Orthotherapist
Daniel began his first career in the Hotel Management field and then into the corporate field doing trouble shooting and helping people. That desire to help and work on a personal level actually filtered down to his hands. Daniel graduated from the Canadian Collage of Orthotherapy and received the honour of the RISING SUN award for his efforts and attitude at the college. Just prior to this study, Daniel took courses in aesthetics with a concentration on waxing.
In the year 1999 Daniel opened the doors of The Little House Spa on a property originally built in 1847 which he owned and restored. People arrived at the spa from all over and by 2002 the spa was rated #1 in the travel book The Secrets of Ottawa. Over the years Daniel had a vision to include men into the spa world through the doors of The Little House Spa. That dream of making men feel more welcome and was the seguway into the next venture BODE SPA FOR MEN.
Daniel purchased Bodé Spa and transformed it into what it is today. Daniel is recognized in the industry as a leader, and even a pioneer in many aspects of the spa world. He continues to not only teach and speak across North America about the topic of Men & Spa but is making an influence on how this sector of service needs to understand the male patron. Daniel is a master waxing expert and teaches for professionals both in and out of the spa in Ottawa.

Spa Manager &
Esthetics
Mr. Fairbairn came to us originally to Bode Spa in the Spring of 2007 as a co-op student from the Ottawa Academy of Beauty and esthetics. Steven was the second male student to graduate from the esthetic programme. With great expectations and confidence he made it clear to the owners he wanted to be apart of what we were trying to do here at Bode and aesthetics for men. In January of 2008 Steven returned and is now a part of the core team that creates the Bode mechanism. Steven has completed his male waxing continuing education and provides our clients with comfort from Body treatments in the hydrotherapy room to facials and pedicure care and more in the aesthetics chamber. He is well known for his sense of style and men come from miles away for his expert guybrow shaping work. Steven intends to continue his education in the spa management field.

Registered Massage
Therapist (RMT)
Craig is a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) with over 8 years of experience. As an RMT Craig is focused on observing your whole body and how it is working. Trouble with your lower back may lead Craig to look at your hamstrings and pelvis. A pain in your neck might be traced to your shoulders and any tension you are carrying.
Craigs unique perspective as an elite athlete leads him to appreciate how important your body is and how frustrating it can be when you do not feel 100 per cent.
Craig is committed to patient healthcare, focusing on preventative techniques to ensure body pain and soreness become a thing of the past. He encourages his patients to lead a healthy lifestyle through exercise and a diet of moderation.
Through a balanced approach to patient care, Craig can solve your current needs and work with you to suggest techniques and exercises that can prevent future problems from occurring. He will not hesitate to recommend you see a physiotherapist or chiropractor if he believes that more clinical treatment is required. Craig has worked with a number of such professionals in Ottawa and is happy to recommend someone should you or he see the need.
Mac
Thom

Mac started his career close to the earth and nature as a man of the farm and agriculture. Farm work developed in Mac a great work ethic which is proven here at the Spa every day. Following his years on the family farm he entered the hi-tech industry which gave him the opportunity to travel many parts of the world. Mac confided in us when he started that it was that love of travel and culture that made him move his efforts and study to that of the art of massage.
For Mac massage has allowed him to develop his touch and it has acted as an outlet for his caring personality. He has been taught to perform different techniques, styles and treatments over the years, but his natural gift is to give his client stress reduction and relaxation. He feels genuinely lucky for that each career opportunity that has come along has done so at the right time in his life to fully appreciate it. We are very fortunate to have Mac Tom on our team here at Bode Spa.

Mind & body care .. meditation for your mind (I cant do it for you but I can tell you where to go) and body care your body (I sure can put you through my massage experience)
Come experience my adapted massage techniques which include:
hydro massage therapy under the misty rain of the hydro room .. ideal for joggers & cyclists .. I will put the hip joint in maximum rotation by stretching the short rotators, flexors, extensors, adductors & abductors through their full range of motion .. not to forget the rotator cuff muscles for swimmers
or swedish massage in the dry room where I can also work with varied osteopathic fascial techniques & stretching techniques
or if a systemic clearing of toxins is required then I can reach the deeper layers with lymphatic drainage therapy techniques (LDT)-Lymphatic Drainage Therapy (Chikly method), and also with visceral manipulation techniques (VM) Visceral Manipulation (Barral Institute)
All these techniques will focus on the abdominal & pelvic regions which are often neglected but are major areas for body circulation (arterial, venous, lymphatic, nervous) and also where a good deal of our emotions & stress is stored .. the gut reaction
Client participation is a key to well being and I can recommend basic yoga stretching exercises. Always remember that moderation and continuity is the key to long range well being
RMT certification since 2005

I.T. & Customer care
Consultant
First and foremost Ger, as we fondly call him is a friend of the owners of Bode. Ger is our IT expert as well as that helpful greeter with a soft calming voice and warm personality that you might meet at the door. Ger luckily has been able to be here with us part of his week, as he continues his pursuit in the study of medicine. Ger has always had a keen interest in the spa as a client and now that he is on the inside has taken us under his technical wing in getting this business a plugged in feeling to the rest of the world. Hats off to Ger for all of his assistance with the owners in re-building the new Bodé Spa website.
